I adore the sweater and want to make one. The colors are beautiful and work well together. My knitting skills are limited and I might need help with a neck collar, but it would be worth learning. I have a couple of other projects to finish, but this one is going onto my TBK list.

The sweet pea bloom is, well, very sweet. I enjoyed all of your stories of appreciating the blooms and activities of summer. I’m sitting in my backyard appreciating the very same as I write. And, thinking of everyone impacted by the terrible wildfires. They are happening with greater frequency every year. I hope that rain arrives in the regions impacted this summer.

Your dress is beautiful and festive. Worthy of many celebrations to come. I look forward to seeing a photo of you wearing it for your 80th.

Your sketches of crows on a wire made me smile. Hanging over our fireplace at home is a painting of birds on a wire by my best friend from college. If I were at home, I’d snap a photo to share with you. Your versions are whimsical and beautiful.

After several days of entertaining and enjoying the company of old friends (and subsequently cleaning the house) in very humid conditions, last night my husband and I enjoyed a baseball game. The college-level league plays here on Martha’s Vineyard. It was a good night for sitting outside. The osprey family that nests on one of the field’s light poles was out flying around the field in the early evening. The teenagers have fledged and were happily enjoying the wind currents.

Enjoy your walks, reads, bird and bee watching.

That sweater is so gorgeous and the new dress is a wonderful print-without-being-foofy and the style so easy. I know your days are not uninterrupted ease (and thank you for keeping it real) but I swear sometimes it seems so! I get frustrated with uneven moods, uneven energy, and stoopid life-administration tasks that keep me from the smooth course of enjoyable accomplishment I aspire to. Or, maybe it’s just the dog-days of 100 degree days and the tedium of discouraging “news” here in the US. Enough whining. I’m blessed and know it. Thank you for your faithful writing.
